Travel Spaces

We are all in your own space. We think we need more space than we have. When we do get more space, we get more stuff. But for what? Do we think we need a bigger bathroom, a bigger bed, or a bigger chair on which to sit, move, exercise, entertain or sleep.

When you live in a house with 6 or 7 rooms, there is a lot of space just between the areas that are use for reading, cooking, and eating. We still only sleep in one bed for seven hours read one book at a time, cook and eat one meal at a time.

I call the areas between the living room, bedroom, bathroom and den Travel Spaces. Travel Spaces in a large home are very big and in a smaller home are a lot smaller.

When a person decides to reduce the Travel Spaces in your home the different areas are still there but closer together. This is true for the full-time RVer. There are some savings to be had as well. The place is easier to heat or cool. Cleaning can be faster. But it’s still easy to lose your keys or glasses.

Here is an example of a home with the Travel  Spaces removed

We are in the process of removing most of our Travel Spaces as we are looking forward to a smaller home.

There are always new roads to travel

  1. Being organized diffidently is a plus for using a smaller place to live. I can relate to the video.
